Open the TEREA Japan page next to any other market and the names look like they belong to a different product. No Amber, no Silver, no Yellow; instead Regular, Balanced Regular, Rich Regular, and a long list of Menthols. Japan is where ILUMA and TEREA launched first, and its range kept its own naming. This guide explains the two lines, what is Japan-only, and how to read the page.
Named by line, not by colour
Outside Japan, TEREA’s names are colours and words: Amber, Bronze, Sienna, Silver, Teak, Yellow, Turquoise, the Waves and the Pearls. The Japanese range groups its cartons into lines instead. The non-menthol cartons are the Regular line, each carrying the word Regular. The menthol cartons carry the word Menthol (or Mint). Two Pearls, Sun Pearl and Oasis Pearl, complete the range under their usual names.
The Regular line
Six cartons: Regular, Balanced Regular, Rich Regular, Smooth Regular, Warm Regular and Ruby Regular. They are the Japanese equivalent of the non-menthol core names elsewhere, and they exist only in the Japanese range, so there is no cheaper market to send you to for them. We list them by name and leave the differences between them to the pack; we do not publish tasting descriptions.
The Menthol line
Nine cartons in our stock: Menthol, Mint, Bright Menthol, Black Menthol, Purple Menthol, Yellow Menthol, Black Purple Menthol, Tropical Menthol and Fusion Menthol. It is the largest group of names on the Japanese page, and, apart from Yellow Menthol sharing a word with the non-menthol Yellow from Europe and Central Asia, every one of them is Japan-only in our range. The Menthol page puts them next to the Italian Menthol range, the only other market that prints the word on the pack.
The two Pearls
Sun Pearl and Oasis Pearl are the Japanese capsule editions, and they are the only two Japanese cartons with counterparts in other markets. Their name pages show the Japanese carton next to the Indonesian, Central Asian and Italian versions with the prices side by side, which is the honest way to decide whether the Japanese version is the one you want.
Where Japan sits on price
The Japanese carton is one of the higher bands we stock, 210 AED, against 120 AED for Indonesia and 125 AED for Kazakhstan; only the Italian upper tier sits above it. Every Japanese carton is the same price, so within the page the decision is the name alone. Packs carry Japanese text and the Japanese warning panel, and the cartons are sealed at ten packs of twenty sticks like every other market.
Who the Japanese range is for
Anyone who wants the Regular line or the Japanese menthols, because nothing else in our range carries those names. If what you want is simply a non-menthol TEREA at a lower price, the Amber, Silver and Yellow pages offer the core names from Central Asia and Europe for less. Both routes fit every ILUMA model; the device does not care which market the carton came from.
Questions about the Japanese range
Is Regular Japan the same as Amber from Europe?
No. Both are non-menthol, but they are different names from different ranges. Regular is Japan-only.
Which Japanese cartons can I get cheaper from another market?
Sun Pearl and Oasis Pearl, whose name pages list the Indonesian, Central Asian and Italian versions. Everything else on the Japanese page is Japan-only.
Do Japanese TEREA sticks fit a UAE ILUMA?
Yes. Any ILUMA model takes any TEREA carton.
Are all Japanese cartons the same price?
Yes: 210 AED, read live from the shop.
What is the difference between Menthol and Mint?
Two names in the Japanese Menthol line. We do not publish tasting descriptions, so we will not guess for you.
